Today started off with me forcing myself out of bed at 7:ooam (trust me, I don't normally see that 7:00) to prepare for an 8:00 audition taping (again, not a normal event, but I was doing a favor for a desperate actor).

And at 7:55, she canceled.

So, yeah, there was that.

I was going to post a picture here of what I looked like when my early-morning client canceled, but instead I thought I'd show you the temperature -- a balmy 49 degrees this morning! (hey, we've been having mornings in the 30s and we don't like it!)

The audition studio held an empty chair, but it gave me time to catch up on some other work. Like Facebook and Twitter. No, wait, I mean....

Finally, after weeks of rain and no gardener, he came by to mow the mushroom-laden lawn (seriously). I kept trying to surreptitiously snap a picture of him. Didn't work. You'll have to just trust me that the lawn is now mowed. Mown?

This is me, listening to classical music on Pandora. Trying to reduce my stress level.

Some positive-thinking signs in my mail today: Emmy and Hawaii magazines and a SAG residual check!! (ok, so that was only for four dollars.... still....)

And did anyone put together the Matthew Fox cover with -- wait for it -- Hawaii magazine? Ahhhhh, now that would be my dream weekend.

Made me want to take a nap....

These two just slay me -- Bogie (the big tiger-striped tabby) and Murphy Brown (one of the two new kittens). They bonded almost immediately, and Bogie sleeps with his paw around Murphy.

There were a whole lot of unusual displays at Ralphs -- candy, flowers, cards and gifts. Didn't know what it all was for, but I treated myself to this cute little bear.

And, to finish off the day, watching a little Tivo'd TV with Murphy Brown (the kitten). He absolutely loves television and the computer (just like his mama :) ).
