July 12, 2009

Today was a hot one -- in the 90's in the Valley, and even pretty warm "over the hill," where I spent the afternoon.

First I had an audition, then a party to attend. Spent the party chatting up some good friends, met some new peeps, and remained in denial that the party's honorees are leaving (they're moving to a new life on the other coast).

Once back at home, I relaxed outside on my swing and enjoyed the remains of the day.

A nice, relaxing twelve!

[For more on 12 of 12: Chad Darnell's site has the scoop!]

Leaving the comfort of my air conditioning for the day, I check the outdoor temp (lower left).

91? uh, really?

My car's outdoor temperature gauge (top right) disagreed.

(Yes, I get upwards of 40 mpg -- I drive a Prius.)

Please don't anyone count the number of times Starbucks appears in my blog.

Or my web series.

This is "my" Starbucks (where they know my drink and start preparing it the minute I drive in the parking lot). I heart coffee.

Jasmyne, the Starbucks barista for my macchiato goodness!

Yep -- I had an audition today! (on a Sunday??)

The waiting room was full with, I think, four different sessions going -- apparently, Sunday is a popular day to hold auditions....

I followed the directions.....

My friend, Keith, his daughter, Lauren, and his nephew, Connor at Keith's going-away party. Keith and his family are headed to North Carolina. I will miss them terribly (but now I have someone to visit there!).

From inside my canopy in the back yard, looking over towards the mountains. The heat of the day had dissipated a bit, and a slight breeze was blowing.

Self-portrait of me and my coffee, hanging with the pups on my glider swing thingie, looking at my great view of the mountains. Sigh.... (in a good way)
