September 12, 2010

Kind of a busy day for a 12 of 12 Sunday, actually!

Had an audition-taping client in the morning, followed by a nap (exhaustion & fatigue overtook me today, unfortunately), followed by some other client work, a dog walk and mini training session (that did not go well -- I fear it is going to take me some time to teach Cricket the clever Chihuahua that "sit" does not mean "run away," or "roll over on your back so I can rub your belly." Sigh.).

Then, finally, I headed out to a premiere -- so Hollywood!

Thanks, Chad Darnell, for putting together 12 of 12 -- you can see more info about the 12 of 12 project here.

September 12, 2010 - 1

This is an extreme close-up of the frittata that I made. It is so flippin' delicious, I can't even tell you.

I actually messed up my usual recipe, and it turned out SO good!

Nom nom nom.

September 12, 2010 - 2

Makin' copies....

September 12, 2010 - 3

Standing at the copier, I got distracted (shiny keys, shiny keys!) by my poor dying plant.

I'm trying to will it to live, but it just isn't happening...

September 12, 2010 - 4

This is the second photo of distraction -- I noticed some butterflies in my new "wildflower" patch in the backyard. You can't even see them in the photo, but they're there, I swear!

The flowers are so pretty -- I ended up going outside and taking photos of them. I'll probably put up an album of pics on Flickr (I'll update this post if I do).

September 12, 2010 - 5

Distracted photo #3: this of the backyard shed, with four outdoor chairs lined up in front of it (thanks to the gardener, who neglected to put them back after he mowed the lawn).

September 12, 2010 - 6

And, yes, what 12 of 12 would be complete without a couple of photos of the pets?

Here's Cali in her favorite place (the kitchen garden window).

September 12, 2010 - 7

Becka, waiting to go outside. I believe this is her perpetual "human, time to do my bidding" look.

September 12, 2010 - 8

Yes, we have a new addition to the family -- this is a tree frog, who lives with a crested gecko (who is quite beautiful, but he keeps hiding from me).

So fun (I used to have anoles back in Connecticut, and I loved them (I had one who lives to be, I think, 8 or 9)).

September 12, 2010 - 9

My client, Riley, came in for an audition taping today, and hung out afterward to cuddle with Cricket.

September 12, 2010 - 10

Riley, me & Cricket in a group photo (thanks to Riley's mom, Shelly, for taking the pic!).

We had a good time during and after Riley's audition!

September 12, 2010 - 11

My friend, Devin, had a red carpet premiere for her new web series, "Dating in the Middle Ages." She wrote it and stars in it, and we got to see a sneak peak of the first four episodes.

A very fun night, with lots of people filling the WGA theatre in Beverly Hills. Carla Collins did some impromptu stand-up (if you don't know her name, look her up -- she was hilarious), and the web series is fun (John Schneider has a role in it!).

September 12, 2010 - 12

I was so excited to have photos of actual humans in my 12 of 12, I asked Devin for one more (yes, this is a self-shot photo -- I am so bad at those!).

Anyway, a lovely time was had (by all, I think, judging by the folks still hanging around when I headed out), and I congratulate Devin and her team for a job well done!

August 12, 2010

I was pretty fatigued today, so I kept my journeys limited. Lots of pet pictures again, but what can I say? They're the "people" in my life!

'twas a captivating day in Burbank today -- the weather was amazing, the skies were clear, and Southern California lived up to its reputation in terms of climate.

Thanks, Chad Darnell, for putting together 12 of 12 -- you can see more info about the 12 of 12 project here.

August 12, 2010 - 1

Oh. Em. Gee. What a beautiful day!! (This is an unretouched photo.)

August 12, 2010 - 2

Yet another doctor's appointment....

August 12, 2010 - 3

Stopping at a mailboxes place on behalf of a client.

August 12, 2010 - 4

A stop at Starbucks (natch), but this time I actually sat down and enjoyed some downtime. With the exception of the "loud talker" in the corner, it was quite relaxing.

August 12, 2010 - 5

Just when I thought I might lay down for a nap, Cricket had the same idea....

I did not get a nap today.

August 12, 2010 - 6

Pretty Becka. She's the only cat allowed outside, and this is her, patiently waiting for me to head to the back door and let her out.

August 12, 2010 - 7

Crazy Fred. He is really amazing -- although he drives me nuts, he remains one of the smartest pets I've ever had, and incredibly loving. Follows me around like a puppy....

August 12, 2010 - 8

Here's Bogie, who has now taken over the top tier of the cat tree. This is a favored position, for some reason (reminds me of the old Peanuts cartoon, when Snoopy would pretend to be a vulture).

August 12, 2010 - 9

Shy Olivia, who is getting a little more social every day. Today I was actually able to pick her up! (a major coup, believe me)

August 12, 2010 - 10

And here's Cali (she's sitting up in the kitchen "garden" window -- her favorite place (when you come up my walkway to the front door, usually the view is of her backside smushed up against the window :) ).

August 12, 2010 - 11

Had a few audition tapings today.

August 12, 2010 - 12

And to bookend the day with gorgeousity (yeah, I made that up), here's a shot of the sliver moon and purple sky (taken even as a small Chihuahua was tugging at her leash to finish her walk!).

July 12, 2010

So, SO busy today! Thanks to my friend, Kimberly, for a bunch of referrals, which kept me hoppin' all day! Consequently, my 12 of 12 is kinda boring. But the pets make several appearances -- how bad can it be??

Thanks, Chad Darnell, for putting together 12 of 12 -- you can see more info about the 12 of 12 project here.

July 12, 2010 - 1

I made myself an egg and ham sandwich, and that was the last thing I had for quite a few hours.

After breakfast, we're off and running!

July 12, 2010 - 2

There was plenty of this....

July 12, 2010 - 3

And a lot of this!

July 12, 2010 - 4

Cricket is a great studio dog -- she greats the actor, flips on her back for a quick tummy-rub, then goes off to sleep in her "tunnel bed."

Finally, it's the end of the day....

July 12, 2010 - 5

... and she crawls out of her cave to join the rest of us!

July 12, 2010 - 6

Fred, asleep on the futon (a blessing when he's quiet, 'cause he's a nutjob when he's awake!).

July 12, 2010 - 7

The espresso machine was my friend today (when I could -- I barely had time to escape to make coffee!!).

July 12, 2010 - 8

I don't know if you can tell, but Fred (the black cat) is nearly upside down as he attempts to drink water from a large bowl on the floor. Becka (the tabby) and Cali (black & white "cow kitty" in the background) look on in amusement (as do I).

July 12, 2010 - 9

Cats: "what the heck are YOU looking at?"

Me: "uh, nothing, never mind, I'll be going now"

July 12, 2010 - 10

Took time at the end of the day to go outside -- Cricket loves her walk! My neighborhood doesn't have sidewalks, so at the moment this photo was taken, we're defying traffic (actually, it's a pretty quiet street, so we're safe -- don't worry!).

July 12, 2010 - 11

What a gorgeous sky! I love dusk.....

July 12, 2010 - 12

Ahhhhhh............ feet up, time for a movie ("It's Complicated" -- I give it an "eh").

June 12, 2010

This month's 12 of 12 finds me in Connecticut, visiting old haunts and friends. I had a very busy day -- starting with an 8:00 breakfast, and ending with a 1:00am rock and roll show (well, it was an acoustic group of singer/songwriters but, hey, it's all rock 'n' roll, ain't it?).

Thanks, Chad Darnell, for putting together 12 of 12 -- you can see more info about the 12 of 12 project here.

June 12, 2010 - 1

This is my friend and high school classmate, Jill. She lives in Fairfield, but drove down to Wilton to have breakfast with me at Orem's Diner. We had a great time!

June 12, 2010 - 2

After breakfast, I had a little time to kill, so I drove north on Route 7. Started off as a cloudy, rainy day, but then turned out to be really nice!

June 12, 2010 - 3

Yep, still working on vacation -- stopped to make a deposit for a client!

June 12, 2010 - 4

As I was leaving the parking lot, there were three different goose families parading around, each with a gaggle of goslings of varying ages. Just adorable.

These are the littlest members of the geese brigade. There was a small puddle of rainwater, and they were having their fill.

June 12, 2010 - 5

I had several more photos of the geese family(s), but I am showing restraint, and this is the last one. Can you even STAND how cute they are??

June 12, 2010 - 6

This is my friend, Holly, whom I consider to be one of my very best friends (we call ourselves "sisters with different mothers"). Every year, when I come to Connecticut, she drives down from New Hampshire (for those who don't know -- that's a LONG drive!) just to spend time with me. I adore her, and love our visits.

June 12, 2010 - 7

My favorite place in East Norwalk -- Overton's. Best burgers, hot dogs, and clam belly rolls on the planet! Holly and I meet here and then sit and chat for hours (I mean hours!).

June 12, 2010 - 8

A panoramic shot of the patrons and tables at Overtons.

June 12, 2010 - 9

This is a panoramic shot taken with the Sony TX7 (a yummy camera), of the cove in East Norwalk.

June 12, 2010 - 10

This is my friend, Evelyn. I've known her for years -- we met when I started following a band called Sister Sun. The musicians (Dave Gunnip, his wife, Dianne, and brother Danny) became very dear friends of mine but I sort of lost touch when I moved to California. Evelyn texted me on Thursday that Dave & Dianne were playing on Saturday in Stamford, so I met them there. We had a blast!

June 12, 2010 - 11

This is Dianne at the piano -- she is an amazing musician, and every time I hear her play, I have piano envy!

June 12, 2010 - 12

This is Dave and their daughter, Jenna, who I've known since she was in the womb. Jenna is incredibly talented (as are her parents).

May 12, 2010

Today was a day of planned errands, many of which I'd postponed for days. Did some client work in the morning, then was getting ready to head out, when an unexpected glitch occurred.

Still turned out to be a productive day, though!

Thanks, Chad Darnell, for putting together 12 of 12 -- you can see more info about the 12 of 12 project here.

May 12, 2010 - 1

Coffee in my Hollywood mug. What can I say?

May 12, 2010 - 2

Fred (aka Freddy Krueger) the cat and Cricket (the new dog) hanging out in the bathroom. Something has peaked their interest...

Cricket actually looks bigger than Fred here, but she is not. He towers over her!
