June 12, 2010

This month's 12 of 12 finds me in Connecticut, visiting old haunts and friends. I had a very busy day -- starting with an 8:00 breakfast, and ending with a 1:00am rock and roll show (well, it was an acoustic group of singer/songwriters but, hey, it's all rock 'n' roll, ain't it?).

Thanks, Chad Darnell, for putting together 12 of 12 -- you can see more info about the 12 of 12 project here.

This is my friend and high school classmate, Jill. She lives in Fairfield, but drove down to Wilton to have breakfast with me at Orem's Diner. We had a great time!

After breakfast, I had a little time to kill, so I drove north on Route 7. Started off as a cloudy, rainy day, but then turned out to be really nice!

Yep, still working on vacation -- stopped to make a deposit for a client!

As I was leaving the parking lot, there were three different goose families parading around, each with a gaggle of goslings of varying ages. Just adorable.

These are the littlest members of the geese brigade. There was a small puddle of rainwater, and they were having their fill.

I had several more photos of the geese family(s), but I am showing restraint, and this is the last one. Can you even STAND how cute they are??

This is my friend, Holly, whom I consider to be one of my very best friends (we call ourselves "sisters with different mothers"). Every year, when I come to Connecticut, she drives down from New Hampshire (for those who don't know -- that's a LONG drive!) just to spend time with me. I adore her, and love our visits.

My favorite place in East Norwalk -- Overton's. Best burgers, hot dogs, and clam belly rolls on the planet! Holly and I meet here and then sit and chat for hours (I mean hours!).

This is a panoramic shot taken with the Sony TX7 (a yummy camera), of the cove in East Norwalk.

This is my friend, Evelyn. I've known her for years -- we met when I started following a band called Sister Sun. The musicians (Dave Gunnip, his wife, Dianne, and brother Danny) became very dear friends of mine but I sort of lost touch when I moved to California. Evelyn texted me on Thursday that Dave & Dianne were playing on Saturday in Stamford, so I met them there. We had a blast!

This is Dianne at the piano -- she is an amazing musician, and every time I hear her play, I have piano envy!

This is Dave and their daughter, Jenna, who I've known since she was in the womb. Jenna is incredibly talented (as are her parents).
