January 12, 2010

An interesting day to document.... It was not the best day for me, as I had to put my dog, Madison, to sleep. She had a nice long life, but she was not happy at the end (she had deteriorated health-wise, and mental-health-wise, to the point where she was growling and snapping at everyone). I loved her very much.

But I didn't want to skip 12 of 12, since I think it's important to take a moment to see your day through the lens, regardless as to what it might show. And today's afternoon photos revealed an absolutely gorgeous sky that literally made me stop to catch my breath.

The rest of the more mundane events of the day kept me going. It is only now, as I sit and reflect on the past 16 hours or so, that tears come back to my eyes.

Be a good girl, Maddie.

I realized late in the morning that it was the "12 of 12" day, and grabbed my camera from the kitchen table. The first thing that caught my eye were the Christmas decorations that are still up.

Don't judge me.

The story of me! OK, not really. It's a SAG screener (for the SAG Awards). So far, I've only gotten screeners of the movies I've actually seen. Hoping for some of the ones I missed....

Here's my lunch. Thrilling, ain't it? (It's Bertolli pasta in a bag from the freezer -- this concoction is chicken parmesan. It's actually quite tasty!)

Griffith Park -- this little picnic section is tucked away on Victory Blvd. I just thought the trees looked cool.

And the mundane..... Stopped to pick up a prescription refill. So there.

You're about to see a ton of sky/cloud shots! It was so stunning and gorgeous this afternoon, I kept wanting to capture the beauty of it all....

January 12, 2010 - 7

The sky was SO pretty -- don't tell anyone, but I took this while driving. I couldn't help myself!

January 12, 2010 - 8

A sky that was just indescribable. So beautiful (I actually pulled over to take this shot!).

January 12, 2010 - 9

If I'd seen these clouds back east, I would've thought it was going to rain or snow any second!

January 12, 2010 - 10

These little back-lit puffs of clouds dotted the sky as the sun set.

A close-up of one of the "puffs" -- yes, I know I'm obsessed with clouds and the sky, but I needed to distract myself today....
